Buckden is our favourite village in The Dales and The Dale is now our favourite holiday stay. The location is perfect, opposite The Buck Inn and with views across the dale from the decking. Some fabulous walks right from the doorstep or travel a little further afield for even more. The hosts Vicky and Richard are very welcoming, nothing is too much trouble for them and they can give you advice on some of the best walks. This was our second stay at The Dale and we are already looking forward to finding time to return. Thank You!

Just enjoying the last night of our break at the Dale. Fabulous accommodation in a great location, beautiful terrace balcony for enjoying the views and an evening glass of wine, has everything and more you could need for a home from home break..A lovely pub serving great food less than a minute away and fabulous walks on you’re doorstep. Richard and Vicky are amazing hosts very friendly and helpful and loved the fresh flowers and welcome pack on our arrival. Can’t wait to return, a must stay if your are looking for a break in the Dales. Thank you Julie and Andy

We stayed in The Dale for two nights and wish that it had been longer; it was lovely there. Warmth and comfort and all very pleasing to the eye and to the spirit. Nothing is missed or forgotten in providing for every need. The large and delightful terrace is perfect for eating out, lounging and watching the wonderful light and shade on Birks Fell. The circular walk up across and down Birks Fell is varied and beautiful, and starts and finishes literally minutes away - even before breakfast for the hearty. The pub is just across the road. We ordered soup, chips and Guiness -perfect. The soup was delicious, the chips crisp on the outside and soft in the middle-scrumptious.

We have been lucky enough to stay in the Dale a few times over the years as we have friends that we visit locally. The accommodation is fabulous (we always sleep really well) and with the new improved balcony it is even better. Vicky and Richard are very friendly and hospitable hosts who always try to make our stays as comfortable as possible.
